History is my favorite academic discipline. I am fascinated by people's motives, individually or as a group, for their points of view and behavior. Motivational impulses are created or altered by a person, movement, weather, topography, or other attributes. My B.A. and M.A. degrees are in history, bolstered by considerable English and visual communication study. My academic concentration is U.S. history between World Wars I and II.
My forty-year oil and gas landman career exposed me to different U.S. societies nationwide, each with distinct customs, vocabularies, language usage, and social perspectives. Each locale introduced me to new social constructs with their social and political perspectives and hierarchical customs. The job proved rewarding and educational.
